Do you often experience heartburn, nausea or stomach pain caused by stomach acid? Yes, this disease is common and is caused by excessive stomach acid production. Gastric acid is needed by the body to start the digestive process and kill pathogenic bacteria that enter the stomach, however, when stomach acid production is excessive, stomach acid can rise until it touches the esophagus and will cause a burning sensation in the chest and/or neck, stomach feeling bloated. or bloating, shortness of breath, belching and nausea.
Excessive increase in stomach acid can be triggered by many factors including:
- Irregular eating patterns, such as eating too hastily, irregular eating schedules, the habit of lying down after eating which can weaken the esophageal muscles, or frequently consuming spicy, fatty and acidic foods.
- Condition of the stomach wall that is damaged due to disease.
- Stress factors can trigger higher stomach acid production.

If you experience increased stomach acid, what you can do is as follows:
- Lie down with your head elevated. The goal is that stomach acid does not continue to rise so that it can prevent injury to the esophagus.

- Drink warm water slowly to relieve the burning sensation
- If you want to vomit, you should not hold back. It's better to just spit it out to make it more comfortable.
- Take medication recommended by your doctor to reduce stomach acid production.
